Threewaysteel's X65MO pipeline steel has achieved the following key performance breakthroughs through low-carbon niobium-titanium-chromium-molybdenum composite design and controlled rolling and controlled cooling process:
• High strength and toughness: tensile strength ≥ 65ksi, excellent crack arrest resistance at -20℃ low temperature environment, meeting the safety requirements of deep-sea high pressure and low temperature environment.
• Corrosion resistance: chemical composition (C: 0.03~0.08%, Mn: 0.80~1.00%, Nb: 0.01~0.02%, etc.) is optimized to effectively resist seawater corrosion and extend the service life of the pipeline.
• Transverse and longitudinal performance uniformity: through precision rolling process, the stability of the material under complex stress in the deep sea is ensured, breaking through the performance bottleneck of traditional pipeline steel.
Application: The first batch of X65MO pipeline steel was 1,809 tons, which was used in the underwater pipeline project of CNOOC Xijiang Oilfield. The project is located in the Pearl River Estuary Basin (average water depth of 100 meters) and faces three major challenges:
• High-pressure transportation: As the "main artery" of oil and gas transportation, it needs to withstand the deep-sea high-pressure environment.
• Low-temperature toughness: The seabed temperature is as low as -20℃, requiring the material to have extreme cold crack resistance.
• Corrosion resistance: Long-term immersion in seawater requires resistance to salt spray and microbial corrosion.
