First, what are the casting measures for stainless steel pipe fittings?

1. Because the shrinkage of stainless steel pipe fittings during casting is much greater than that of cast iron, risers, chills, and padding are commonly used in the casting process to prevent shrinkage cavities and porosity defects, thus achieving sequential solidification.

2. To prevent shrinkage cavities, porosity, blowholes, and cracks in stainless steel pipe fittings, the wall thickness should be uniform, sharp corners and right-angle structures should be avoided, sawdust should be added to the molding sand, coke should be added to the core, and hollow cores and oil sand cores should be used to improve the collapsibility and permeability of the sand mold or core.

3. Due to the poor fluidity of molten steel, to prevent cold shuts and incomplete filling in the cast steel parts, the wall thickness of the cast steel parts should not be less than 8mm; dry casting molds or hot casting molds should be used, and the pouring temperature should be appropriately increased, generally to 1520~1600℃. Because the pouring temperature is high, the superheat of the molten steel is large, the liquid state is maintained for a long time, and the fluidity can be improved. However, excessively high pouring temperatures can cause defects such as coarse grains, hot cracking, porosity, and sand adhesion. Therefore, for small, thin-walled, and complex-shaped precision castings, the pouring temperature is generally about 150°C above the melting point of steel. The gating system should have a simple structure and a larger cross-sectional dimension than cast iron. For large, thick-walled castings, the pouring temperature is about 100°C higher than their melting point.

Second, what is the purpose of polishing stainless steel pipe fittings?

Brightly polished steel pipes have a clean and shiny appearance, are easy to clean, and have an invisible protective film that prevents corrosion. They are also less prone to scale buildup and have a longer service life. Matte-finished stainless steel pipes have the advantages of an elegant and sophisticated appearance and less light pollution. For indoor environments, the finishing process provides sufficient rust prevention. The rust and corrosion resistance of stainless steel pipes is due to the nickel content on the surface, which forms a protective oxide layer.

Third, how to prevent precision stainless steel pipe fittings from rusting?

1. Avoid contact with other metals, as stainless steel fittings can rust due to the adhesion of dissimilar metals, such as screws. Although initially the rust may be subtle, it will become clearly visible after wiping with a cloth and a neutral detergent.

2. Another factor contributing to rust on stainless steel fittings is pre-installation rust. This can occur due to surface rusting caused by carelessness on the part of the stainless steel processor, such as placing the material near the cutting machine and allowing welding slag to splash onto the surface.

3. Rusting of stainless steel fittings can also be affected by environmental factors, such as in coastal areas exposed to sea winds. To prevent this, the surface of stainless steel fittings can be cleaned with a cleaning solution.
